A year goes by and then I wonder when the childhood ends
They say children grow up so fast, it never lasts

"She Said Yes"

Was written for Jeanette's 29th birthday.

She rode into Georgetown, a little city north of Austin
A little girl he didn't even know
He walked the streets of a harbor town so far away in Maryland
Wonderin when he'd find a love to grow

Over twenty years passed by and both just lived their lives
Unaware they'd ever meet and look into each other's eyes
But fate stepped in and cleared the skies

The sun shown down from heaven and touched their hearts with passion
They never knew such feelings could exist
For warmth would spread like fire when they held each other close
And angels wept with joy whene'er they kissed

Then one day at Bull Creek Park he smiled and took her hand
Got down on one knee and asked if he could be her man forever more
And the tears began to pour

Life like a fairy tale, love that will never fail
Springs from a tender voice he heard
In dreams behind a soft white veil
At last he confessed, her eyes filled with happiness
But before the first teardrop fell in joy...she said yes

Now it's only months away, the young man counted every day
Until he could see her walk down the aisle
How he wondered could the fates have given him this rapture
And carried such pure love two thousand miles
Then he came to realize it wasn't fate at all
He asked for love so long ago and God had heard his call
And mad him blessed when she said yes...
